   Application for Payment from the Contractor's Recovery Fund (Minnesota Department of Commerce)
The Contractor's Recovery Fund may compensate residential property owners and renters who have lost money due to a Commerce Department-licensed contractor's fraudulent, deceptive, or dishonest practices, conversion (theft) of funds, or performance failure. Once you have obtained a judgment against the contractor, you can file an application for payment from the Contractor's Recovery Fund.

Forms included with this packet are: Application for Accelerated Payment Out of the Contractor's Recovery Fund, Application for Order Directing Payment Out of the Contractor's Recovery Fund, Notice of Hearing for Order Directing Payment Out of Contractor's Recovery Fund, and Affidavit of Compliance (concerning serving the Notice of Hearing or Statement of Claim and Summons on the contractor and on the Commissioner of Commerce). According to the Department of Commerce web site (when visited September, 2003), "This packet contains everything needed to apply to the Fund."
